Three-Dimensional Digital Imaging
We are among the first dentists in our area to
use 3-D cone beam CT digital imaging for the most precise images for dental
procedures. It brings more complete and accurate details than X-rays and
does all this with minimal radiation.
The advantage with 3-D imaging
is being able to see a patient's anatomy in the true three dimensions. It
provides great accuracy when proceeding with treatments, especially for any
oral surgeries or implant placement.
Less Radiation with Digital X-rays
We use only digital X-rays that emit much less radiation – 75% less – and
the image is produced immediately on our computer screen. We simply place a
digital sensor in your mouth to obtain either a shot of a specific area or a
panoramic view of upper and lower dental arches. There is no polluting the
environment with this technology, as no chemicals are used in the process.
Technology That Makes You Part of the Team
We use the intra-oral miniature video camera to let you see a close-up image
of the interior of your mouth. Patients are amazed to be able to see with
this clear image the teeth that need work. Seeing for yourself lets you take
part in the decisions that are made for your best treatment and oral health.
Crowns in a Single Visit
Dr. Christensen is pleased to offer crowns made with CEREC™, a highly precise computer milling machine that makes crowns right in the office, in about an hour. No more temporaries, additional visits, or crowns that don’t seem to fit right. These modern restorations dramatically reduce cracking, lowering the likelihood of needing future root canal treatment. Due to the custom design and precise fit, CEREC restorations are bonded to the tooth with the optimum strength available. If you have ever had a crown placed the traditional way, we are sure you will notice the difference!
Laser Scanner Finds Cavities at Their Beginning Stages
Perhaps in the past, you have scheduled regular visits to a dentist to take
care of any cavity development when it is still small. At one of those
visits, you are in disbelief that the dentist is telling you there is a
large cavity in one of your teeth. How did this happen? The cavity was there
six months earlier, it just wasn't identified. Often, very small cavities do
not show up on X-rays or are not apparent with visual examination.
With the Laser Scanner, we can detect cavities when they are just beginning
so our doctor can remove the decay and restore it with a very small,
invisible filling. Use of this high-tech tool also provides accuracy in
treatment and eliminates any unnecessary procedures.
